F-1 Technical Infos

Specifically designed for x-country racing, the F-1 is torsionally super rigid and has 75mm (3') of linear suspension travel.

It perfectly matches the latest generation of lightweight forks.

Weighting 1980gr (4.4Lb), it's by far the world lightest suspended frame* and it allows you to build up a Worl Cup racing bike below 8.6Kg (19.2Lb).

X-link

This little hi-tech monster weighting 28gr./1oz. is the X-link; to build it we have to combine several technologies: laser cutting, CNC, TIG microwelding and aerospacial Peek mold-injected bushings.

Thanks to its unique 4 pivot design, it keeps the rear end straight and truely flex-free even while out of saddle sprinting.

Custom Tubing

We only use custom designed double butted tubsets. An extensive use of variable thickness 7020 T6 aluminium offers the best combination of performance, lightness and durability.

 

No crude "chip style" gussets, here we weld a really sturdy reinforcement that's much more efficient; called "Micro Box"

Our exclusive welding procedure ensures better frame alignment and constant manufacturing quality.

The welding process passes through custom made steel jigs. We made them with extremely tight tolerances; the jigs lock the frame parts in 68 places (front) and 78 (rear), so the F-1 has some 146 alignment checking points!

 

Moreover our jigs allow the whole welding process to take place with all of the parts completely locked.

 

CNC Parts

F-1's BB shell and swingarm yoke are both CNC machined from massive 1Kg./2.2Lb. billets!

 

While machining out more than 90% of excessive material, our hi-tech components are comparable with Formula 1 technology.

 

Even every other frame component is CNC machined, including dropouts,

shock mounts,swingarm ends and "X-link" bushing seats etc.

Hyper accurate dimensional design is one of the secrets of F-1 lightness and stiffness.

 

Pivots and bushings are made with hi-tech aerospace materials; zero maintenance for years.

No compromise construction translates into exceptional stiffness and rear wheel alignment.

Disc brake systems: F1 (disc version) is fully compatible with Shimano XT, Magura Louise/Clara, Formula, Hope etc.

F-1 disc version is not provided with V-brake mounts.

 

No matter how sophisticated your shift-brake system is, its performance is directly related to the quality of the cable routing on your frame.

All F-1 cables are top tube routed to give faultless shifting regardless the conditions. Housings are very short for better response and the rear deralier cable neatly passes inside the seatstay.
