Rc1 tech infos

Designed for pure x-c racing, it's rigid and efficient only where needed, thanks to our special braces that make chainstays, BB shell, head tube and seat tube laterally hyper-stiff.

Seatstays are able of absorb vertical loads (ca 2mm) through the A-Shock system.

Rc1 in race trim can weight less than 7.8Kg. (17.4Lb).

Extralite fits Rc1 framesets with the original microabsorber system called "A-Shock", with a degree of vertical compliance with no unwanted lateral flex it provides the ultimate combination of ultra efficiency and racing comfort.

 

CNC Parts

Steering tube, BB shell and dropouts are CNC machined for serious functional reason, not just for good look!

The true new concept lies in the rear-end stiffening system.

We designed micro braces (tensile tralices) that employ the same famous frame tecnology used for superbikes and airplanes.

 

 

Ceramic Shot Peening

After Rc1 frame is completely assembled and welded we assign it to a very trick hi-tech treatment.

The Ceramic Shot Peening process removes welding tensions and hardens the frame surface so that fatigue resistance is greatly enhanced while the 7020T6 aluminum tubes get even stiffer.

 

Custom Tubing

We only use custom drawn 7020 T6 oversized and double butted tubing, specifically made for Extralite Rc1.

An extensive use of variable thickness 7020T6 aluminum offers the best combination of performance, lightness and durability.

"Micro Box" and "Micro Braces" reinforcements are added to maximize power efficiency under sprinting, reflex response and overall sturdiness.

Tig Welding

The welding process passes through custom made steel jigs. We designed the jigs to lock the frame parts in over 80 places with extremely tight tolerances. Moreover our custom jigs allow the whole welding process to take place with all of the parts completely locked.

Our exclusive welding procedure ensures better frame alignment and constant manufacuring quality.

Cable Routing

No matter how sophisticated your shift-brake system is, its performance is directly related to the quality of the cable routing on your frame.

All Rc1 cables are top tube routed to give faultless shifting regardless the conditions. Housings are very short for better response and the rear deralier cable neatly passes inside the seatstay.

Disc brake systems: Rc1 standard version has V-brake and disc mounts fully compatible with Shimano, Magura, Grimeca, Formula, Hope etc.

Rc1 disc only version is not provided with V-brake mounts.
